Damien Bachmann wurde in Genf in eine Musikerfamilie geboren und hat sich als herausragender Klarinettist etabliert. Damien Bachmann was born in Geneva into a family of musicians and is recognised as one of the leading clarinetists of his generation. A laureate of more than 20 national and international competitions, he performs regularly on major stages throughout Europe and Asia. Critics have been unanimous in their praise, describing him as a “gifted musician” with “effortless ease and boundless freedom,” (24H, CH 2018) and as a “phenomenal clarinetist of remarkable expressivity and virtuosity” (Cronica Muzicala, 2020), with “captivating playing” (Pizzicato, 2023).

Known for his stylistic versatility, he is particularly sought after for repertoire that spans classical, jazz and klezmer traditions. He is a teacher at the Musik Akademie der Stadt Basel, where he combines teaching with an active international schedule of masterclasses, and he regularly serves as a juror at international competitions.
