Alexandre Zanetta entdeckte das Horn im Alter von 6 Jahren. Im Alter von 15 Jahren entwickelt er seine Leidenschaft für das Naturhorn unter der Leitung von Jacques Adnet am CRR in Paris. Anschließend studierte er das moderne Horn bei Marie-Luise Neunecker an der Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin und bei Jens Plücker an der Musikhochschule Lübeck.
Seine Leidenschaft für historische Hörner führte ihn an die Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, wo er bei Thomas Müller und Jean-François Madeuf studierte. Alexandre hat sich auf Barockhörner spezialisiert und bevorzugt einen historisch authentischen Ansatz, der den Einsatz neuerer Techniken zur Intonationskorrektur ausschließt.
Seit 2021 gibt Alexandre seine Liebe zur Musik als Lehrer für historische Hörner weiter, zunächst an der Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen und dann an der HEM in Genf. Darüber hinaus engagiert er sich stark für die Ausbildung junger Musiker an verschiedenen Musikschulen, insbesondere in Basel.
Alexandre wird regelmäßig eingeladen, mit international renommierten Ensembles für Alte Musik wie dem La Cetra Barockorchester Basel, dem Collegium 1704 und dem Café Zimmermann zu spielen. Er hat auch an Aufnahmen mit der Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, dem Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg und Los Elementos teilgenommen.
Im Herbst 2022 trat er die Nachfolge von Thomas Müller als Professor für historisches Horn an der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis an, wo er sein Wissen und seine Leidenschaft für historische Hörner weitergeben wird.

Born in the Paris region, Alexandre Zanetta discovered the horn at the age of 6 with Christophe Vellard. At the age of 15, he developed his passion for the natural horn under the tutelage of Jacques Adnet at the CRR in Paris. He went on to study the modern horn with Marie-Luise Neunecker at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin and with Jens Plücker at the Musikhochschule Lübeck.
His passion for historical horns led him to the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where he studied with Thomas Müller and Jean-François Madeuf. Alexandre specialises in baroque horns, preferring a historically authentic approach that excludes the use of more recent techniques to correct intonation.
Since 2021, Alexandre has been sharing his love of music as a teacher of period horns, first at the Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen and then at the HEM in Geneva. He is also heavily involved in teaching young musicians at various music schools, particularly in Basel.
Alexandre is regularly invited to play with internationally renowned early music ensembles such as La Cetra Barockorchester Basel, Collegium 1704 and Café Zimmermann. He has also participated in recordings with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg and Los Elementos.
